Neighborhood Overview & History
Haddon Hall is a neighborhood of 700+ homes in central Apex, NC, right next to Beaver Creek Commons. It was built in phases from about 1997 to 2007. It has single-family homes, townhomes, and condos, with prices from about $260,000 to over $900,000.
The big draw here is location. You can get to groceries, big-box stores, and restaurants in a few minutes, and downtown Apex is only about a mile away. But once you turn in, it doesn’t feel like you’re next to a shopping center. The streets have mature trees, and there’s a lake and greenway trails right inside the neighborhood.
The single-family homes sit on lots from about a fifth of an acre up to three-quarters of an acre. The older sections tend to have the bigger, more private lots. Newer neighborhoods in Apex often pack homes closer together, so that space is worth a look.
Here’s the honest trade-off. Most homes here are 20 to 29 years old. That means you’ll want to look closely at the roof, the HVAC, the windows, and the water heater. Some owners have already updated, and some haven’t. Two homes at the same price can be very different inside. That’s where a good inspection and the seller’s repair records really matter.
What It's Like to Live in Haddon Hall
Life in Haddon Hall is all about convenience. Beaver Creek Commons sits right at the edge of the neighborhood. Groceries, the pharmacy, and a quick dinner out are just a few minutes away. If you’re moving from an area where weekend errands took up half your Saturday, you’ll feel the difference right away.
Inside the neighborhood, it’s quiet and full of big, older trees. A lake sits in the middle, with walking paths around it. Add the pool, the clubhouse, and the tennis and pickleball courts, and there’s plenty to do without leaving.
Here’s a tip before you start looking. Haddon Hall has three kinds of homes, and each one lives and costs a little differently:
- Condos (The Crossings): The least upkeep. Dues are about $464 a month and cover most of the outside upkeep of the building and the shared insurance.
- Townhomes (Golders Green and The Glens): The middle ground. Dues are about $200 a month, and there’s less yard work.
- Single-family homes: The most space and the biggest lots. Dues are just $49 a month, but the outside and the yard are all on you.
If you want a big yard and lots of shade trees, look at the older single-family sections. Plan on some updates to things like the HVAC, the roof, or the kitchen. If you want to lock the door and go, the townhomes and condos are a great fit.

Housing Styles & Typical Price Range
Haddon Hall has three kinds of homes: condos, townhomes, and single-family houses. They were built in phases from about 1997 to 2007.
Most single-family homes are traditional, with brick fronts and siding. The townhomes and condos went up in their own sections during the same years. Because the neighborhood was built over about ten years, two homes at the same price can be quite different in age and in how much has been updated.
Estimated Price Range (Per Doorify MLS)
Homes here sell anywhere from about $260,000 to over $900,000, depending on the type of home, the size, the section, and the updates inside:
- Condos (The Crossings): ~$260,000 to $325,000 (1,000 to 1,485 sq ft)
- Townhomes (Golders Green and The Glens): ~$325,000 to $425,000 (1,275 to 2,587 sq ft)
- Single-Family Homes: ~$600,000 to $900,000+ (1,800 to 5,000+ sq ft)
Notice the gap. The biggest townhomes can be larger inside than the smallest single-family homes, but they cost about $175,000 or more less. What you're paying for with a single-family home is mostly the land and the privacy, not more room inside.

School Assignment for Haddon Hall
Haddon Hall is in the Wake County Public School System, the biggest district in North Carolina. Here’s what people from out of state don’t expect: your school isn’t based on the neighborhood name. It’s based on your exact street address.
For the 2026–27 school year, Haddon Hall addresses are assigned to:
- Elementary: Salem Elementary
- Middle: Salem Middle
- High: Apex Friendship High
Wake County also runs more than one calendar: traditional, year-round, and modified. Which one you get is tied to your address too. That catches a lot of out-of-state buyers off guard.
Charter and Private Options Nearby
If you’re looking at options beyond your assigned school, central Apex has several. These aren’t tied to your address. Each one has its own application process and its own timeline, so start early if you’re interested.
- Peak Charter Academy: tuition-free K–8 charter in Apex
- Pine Springs Preparatory Academy: tuition-free K–8 charter in Holly Springs
- Thales Academy Apex: K–12 private
- St. Mary Magdalene School: PreK–8 private
Other charter schools operate across the Triangle as well.
Check the address before you write an offer. Zones, calendars, and feeder patterns can change every year by decision of the Wake County Board of Education. Being close to a school doesn’t mean you get in. Some fast-growing Apex schools are capped right now, and new residents can get sent to another campus. Look up the exact property at wcpss.net during your due diligence period.

Commute Times from Haddon Hall
Haddon Hall sits in the middle of Apex, and that’s its biggest commute advantage. US-64 and NC-540 are both just minutes from the neighborhood entrances.
Driving Times
- Downtown Apex (about 1 mi): 5–7 min
- RTP (12–18 mi): 15–20 min
- Downtown Raleigh (15–20 mi): 22–26 min
- RDU Airport (12–16 mi): 20–25 min
- Cary (8–12 mi): 12–18 min
How You Get Out
For RTP or the airport, most people take NC-540. That part of 540 is a toll road, and there are no toll booths. You pay with an NC Quick Pass, or you get a bill in the mail, and the mail bill costs more. If you’ll drive it every day, put the tolls in your budget before you buy.
For downtown Raleigh, take US-64 or US-1 north. Cary is an easy drive on the same roads.
What Traffic Actually Feels Like
Inside the neighborhood, the streets stay quiet. The slowdowns happen at the traffic lights near Beaver Creek Commons, on weekday mornings and evenings and on weekend shopping afternoons. That’s shopping and highway traffic passing through, not neighborhood traffic.
Here’s my advice: drive your real commute at 7:30 on a Tuesday morning, not on Saturday afternoon when you’re touring homes. They’re not the same drive, and the Tuesday one is the one you’ll do all year.
Haddon Hall Amenities
Haddon Hall gives you two things at once. Inside, you get a lake, trails, a pool, and courts. Right outside, Beaver Creek Commons has your shopping and dining.

A big lake sits in the middle of the neighborhood, with walking paths around it. The Haddon Hall Greenway runs through the community too, including the Blackburn Access. It's an easy place to get a walk in before work or after dinner, any time of year.
Pool, Courts & Clubhouse
The community pool and clubhouse are the summer hub. There are courts for both tennis and pickleball, plus a playground, all right inside the neighborhood.

What’s Good
- Shopping at the edge: Beaver Creek Commons is right next door, with groceries, dining, and everyday errands a few minutes away.
- Lots to do inside: A big lake with walking paths, the Haddon Hall Greenway, a pool, a clubhouse, tennis and pickleball courts, and a playground.
